Latin America and the Caribbean: Selected economic and social data 2007 is now available online

Welcome to the Latin America and Caribbean window of the USAID Economic and Social Database. Our goal is to provide the public, U.S. government agencies, and international development partners access to the highest quality socio-economic data on countries in the Latin America and Caribbean region.

We have organized the data by socio-economic sector, in addition to the regional economic overview. There is a link to each sector-specific page in the navigation bar to the left. From the sector pages, you may query the database to produce cross-national, time-series data sets that can be viewed in your web browser or downloaded as spreadsheets or text tables.

Technical Notes and Sources Please read the Note on Statistics where we provide useful information regarding the data housed on this web site, including format, data standards, conventions and definitions. For sector-specific notes and sources view the Technical Notes files located on the sector pages.

QESDBis the query-driven component of the Economic and Social Database - a single-site repository of development statistics. USAID's Bureau for Latin America and the Caribbean sponsors annual production of the Qesdb, which is produced in cooperation with Data Services of the Bureau for Policy and Program Coordination (PPC), Center for Development Information and Evaluation (CDIE). This site is the web presence of the publication Latin America and the Caribbean: Selected Economic and Social Data, also known as the LAC Databook.

We invite you to contact the Data Services analyst for LAC with questions on statistics and socio-economic trends regarding Latin America and the Caribbean.
